The Enfield Judo Club was founded in 1993 by George Hyslop and currently has approximately 70 members of all ages and skill levels. The Enfield Judo Club is a part-time Club giving children and young people the chance to experience Judo - an Olympic Sport of self-defence, offering friendship, confidence building and fitness all within the Enfield area.
We encourage confidence growth, self-discipline and opportunities to extend self-esteem, helping young people to widen their experiences. We value the cultural diversity of our members, and provide equal opportunities for all. We participate in local, National and International Competitions. Children can participate on a recreational level or enter in events as and when appropriate. ENFIELD JUDO CLUB HAVE TWO PLAYERS SELLECTED TO REPRESENT GREAT BRITAIN IN EUROPE
15 year olds Amy Thompson and Philip Awiti have both been selected to represent Great Britain in the Junior European Championships 26 - 28 June in Slovenia. Both youngsters have lived all there lives in Enfield and have been members of the the Enfield Judo Club since they were 8 years old. They have represented Enfield successfully in the Borough Youth Games and our club both home and abroad through out the years. In life this opportunity is one of the mile stones that many youngsters dream about, and we at Enfield Judo Club are all very proud of both Amy and Philip. We wish them both all the success with there efforts in Slovenia and they can take heart in knowing that they were two that were chosen. WE ARE MOVING As of the 6th January 2008 we will be moving to new premises at Turin Grove School and Collage, Edmonton. Reason we have decided to move is due to the fact that the new venue has the facilities that will be much more suited to our needs going forward. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and management for looking after us over the past few years. We look forward to seeing all our members in the new year at the new venue. George Hyslop
